A meaning for the word purpose is “something set up as an object or end to be attained”. This is how To Repair A Nation will be using it.
Harriet Tubman said, “There was no one to welcome me to the land of freedom. I was a stranger in a strange land.” When I first arrived in Uganda, I did not know anyone. My only point of contact was the real estate agent who leased me the compound. I felt like Harriet’s quote and I decided to make sure others that followed me on this path were welcomed and felt like family.
Along with my partners and associates we will lease properties which will be purchased when we get dual-citizenship. Some properties will have structures and some will be land for building. These locations will become ALKEBU-LAN WELCOME CENTERS. The centers will assist any diasporan with accessing services. We will be encouraging African Americans to visit Africa and see for themselves what is true or false. We will house or have suggested housing for stays from one week to one year. Our long term purpose is to own properties throughout Africa where we can return to visit or live.
Our donors, sponsors, and Non-profit organizations will generate the funds required to complete our Nia (purpose). You are invited to join us as a donor or sponsor. The difference between a donor and a sponsor is that donors can give one time or many times without an apparent pattern, while a sponsor donates a set amount monthly of $25 to the program. Our journey will be documented via social media. Join us by donating, subscribing, liking and following us. Together we thrive!
